Chapter 1 | Introduction to LIKS
Hi! We are LIKS, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) school based in Mexico. We develop engineering and technology workshops and camps with kids between 6 and 15 years old. 9-year-old Jana González from LIKS turned to playing videogames after her parent’s divorce. As her love of playing games evolved into programming them, she soon discovered robotics and joined an all-girl team competing in the Moonbots, a worldwide robotics competition for kids.
This is Moonbots STEM Outreach video of Team MecaLIKS from Mexico City. In this video we show the demonstrations of our Moonbots Game to children and adults in our community. We also show the ways that we taught audiences about lunar exploration, the Google Lunar XPRIZE and how STEM education can be fun. And the most incredible thing… our donation of the three VEX Robotics Kits to a public school.
